Toxic hepatitis

Toxic hepatitis is an inflammation of your liver. Toxic hepatitis occurs when your liver is damaged by toxic chemicals, drugs, or certain poisonous mushrooms that you ingest or to which you've been exposed. In some cases, toxic hepatitis develops within hours or days of exposure to a toxin. In other cases, it may take months of regular use before symptoms of toxic hepatitis appear. Often, the symptoms of toxic hepatitis clear when your exposure to the toxin stops. But toxic hepatitis can permanently damage your liver, leading to irreversible scarring of liver tissue (cirrhosis) and in some cases to liver failure.

Mild forms of toxic hepatitis may not cause any noticeable problems and may be detected only by blood tests. When signs and symptoms occur, they're similar to those caused by other types of hepatitis:

  • Yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes (jaundice)
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Weight loss
  • Dark or tea-colored urine

Treatment of patient suffering from toxic hepatitis with ozone therapy:

Patient Zaza Shingelia came to our institute with complaints of acute pain in the right lateral abdominal region, severe weakness, jaundice involving both the skin, and sclera. The patient had dark brown (tea ) color of his urine.

The patient was administered over a period of 20 session’s high density ozone intravenously in 500 ml normasaline., after every 5 days the patient underwent biochemical analysis to ascertain whether the treatment was helpful or not, the results started to appear as soon as the first day, the patient started to feel himself better, the fatigue was less, and over a period of 20 days, all his complaints were removed.

  • Analysis 1- before initiation of treatment:
  • Analysis 2- Session 5
  • Analysis 3- Session 10
  • Analysis 4- Session 15

Present day the patient does not have any complaints and has been advised to repeat biochemical analysis and report to us.
